Hughes Howdy Mascot 2018 Update

A few years into working with Hughes General Contractors I took it upon myself to rework the company logo and mascot, Howdy, and submit this work to the owners for approval. Took a big chance on this because it was a lot of work and I didn't think they were going to go for it, Howdy was sacred and no one has touched him in 60 years, but 60 years of hand copying from one artist to the next had really done a number on the drawings integrity, and I really believed a digital redraw was necessary so I went for it.

This comparison is only one of several versions which the company was using at the time, and the idea wasn't just to clean him up and somewhat modernize him but to get the entire brand under one consistent logo. The original version was drawn by an unknown local artist, did quite a bit of research to find out who, but never did.
